MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program

The vision of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is to educate and develop bright yet economically marginalized young people in Africa and developing countries who have a demonstrated “give-back” ethos and who will contribute to the transformation of the continent.

Foreign Fulbright Student Scholarship Program

The Fulbright Program is a scholarship for international students who want to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. degree. Scholarships can also be awarded for non-degree postgraduate studies.  The grant covers tuition fees, textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance.

Level of Study: Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in fields including interdisciplinary ones except for medical degree programs or clinical medical research.

1. The Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University:

The Nieman Fellowship is a prestigious award that is offered to talented journalists every year by the Nieman Foundation. The fellowship provides full-tuition assistance and a monthly stipend for the duration of the program, which lasts two years. 

Eligible candidates must be graduate students who have completed their first two years of full-time postgraduate study at an accredited U.S. university.

The Nieman Foundation believes that a career as a journalist is one of the most important roles that an individual can play and offers opportunities to talented individuals who want to pursue this career.

2. Harambe Fletcher Scholarships for African Students:

The Harambe Fletcher Scholarships is a fully-funded scholarship program that provides young African leaders with the opportunity to acquire a Master’s degree in business or entrepreneurship in the United States. The scholarship offers a tuition waiver and $20,000 per year for the duration of the program. Applicants must be students who are from Africa, have an outstanding academic record, and demonstrate financial need. 

The scholarship was created in memory of Harambe Fletcher, a young man from Zimbabwe who died in 2015 while attending Ohio State University. The scholarship assists talented African students in gaining the skills and knowledge they need to achieve success in their career goals.

3. Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities:

The Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities is a scholarship program that provides students with disabilities the opportunity to obtain a degree from an accredited U.S. university. 

The scholarship offers full tuition and fees and room and board. In addition, the scholarship includes a monthly stipend of $1,000. The Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities was created in honor of Google’s Lime scooters, which provide accessible transportation for people with disabilities. 

The scholarship is open to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. university. 4. Yale Young African Scholars Program: 

The YYAS program is a scholarship program designed to encourage talented African students to pursue a career in fields such as science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). 

The scholarship provides full tuition and fees for two years of undergraduate study at any U.S. college or university. In addition, the program provides $25,000 per year in financial assistance for four years of graduate study at a U.S. college or university. 

The YYAS scholarship is open to students who are nationals of countries in Africa, and who are not currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program or a graduate program at a U.S. college or university. 

The eligibility requirements for the Yale Young African Scholars Program are: 

  • -You must be a national of a country in Africa.
  • -You must not be currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program or a graduate program at a U.S. college or university.
  • -You must have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and potential in your field of study.
  • -You must be able to participate in a full-time undergraduate program or a graduate program at Yale.
  • -You must be over 14 years. 

5. EDSF Scholarship Program:

The Electronic Document Scholarship Foundation Program is a fully-funded scholarship awarded to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in Document Management and Graphic Communication.

Eligibility Criteria for this Scholarship program include: 

  • -You must be a high school senior or a current college student.
  • -You must have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in document management.
  • -You must have excellent academic records.
  • -You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. 

6. New York University Wagner Scholarships: 

NYU Wagner offers a bunch of fully-funded scholarships to international students with the aim of providing financial support for them during the course of their degree. Every applicant gets awarded on merit as this scholarship award is highly competitive. You are not eligible to apply for this program if you are an NYU employee or without any form of degree. 

The eligibility requirements for the NYU Wagner Scholarships are:

7. Texas Christian University Scholarships:

TCU offers a variety of scholarship programs for international students to apply for. The scholarship programs are open to eligible international students from all around the world as it provides two different types of financial assistance available: scholarships awarded based on outstanding academic achievement and need-based financial aid. The latter part of this program is only awarded to students who are entering as first-year or transfer students.

The TCU scholarship program covers tuition and fees, health insurance, and an average cost of living which includes; books, transportation, food, housing, etc.  

This scholarship program offers financial assistance of $40,000 per annum. 

The scholarship is based on an outstanding academic record and provides a partial tuition waiver for the selected course of study you plan to pursue at TCU. To apply for this scholarship, you must submit the TCU Scholarship Application Form which can be accessed from the website. 

8. Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship Program:

The Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship Program provides women who are currently pursuing Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with financial assistance to help them continue their education. The scholarship is available to women who are residents of Canada or the United States.

The scholarship program offers financial assistance of $20,000 per year. The scholarship is based on an outstanding academic record and provides a partial tuition waiver for the selected course of study that you plan to pursue at Microsoft.
